Welcoming
Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it. Hebrews 13:2
The earliest Christian communities were marked by the virtue of hospitality.
Hospitality is more than “punch and cookies.” It’s a sacred duty to welcome and extend care and kindness to others, especially the “stranger” and those who are vulnerable.
We believe that when we welcome others, we are welcoming Jesus into our midst. At FBC Morrow, we hope you experience us as the kind of warm and inviting church where you immediately know that your presence matters. Where you know that you belong.

Loving
“Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?” [Jesus] said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Matthew 22:36-39
Love sums everything up. It is who God is, it is what Jesus demonstrated, and it is what we are called to do in response. Love is not passive. It is active. Love shows compassion. It does not judge. Love includes. Not excludes. Love calls us to grow into our true identities, children of God.

Praying
Abide in me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:4-5
The Christian life of faith is one of transformation, of becoming more like Jesus, the one we follow, and ultimately union with God. Prayer, a deep abiding of our spirit with the Spirit of God, is how that transformation occurs. Prayer deepens our fellowship with God. And prayer draws us into deeper fellowship with one another and the world.
Prayer is an essential component of our life together at FBC Morrow, as we lift the pain and suffering of the world to God and as we offer our gratitude and praise for God’s goodness in our lives.
